The Practice Stuart Macfarlane Optometrist and Contact Lens Practitioner, located in Logan City Centre, has been dedicated to the health and well-being of your family's eyes for over 20 years.
Stuart Macfarlane
Stuart Macfarlane graduated from the Queensland University of Technology in 1983. Subsequently he obtained a distinction in Ocular Therapeutics from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. He was also in the inaugural group of Queensland Optometrists to complete post-graduate therapeutic certification to allow the use of diagnostic and therapeutic drugs. This has enabled him to write prescriptions for eye-drops such as antibiotics and anti-inflammatories for the treatment of ocular conditions such as allergy and conjunctivitis. His particular interests are contact lenses, diseases of the eye and ensuring the best fit for your eyewear needs.
Geraldine O’Neale
Geraldine O’Neale graduated in Optometry at the Queensland University of Technology in 2000. Since then, Geraldine has gained experience in both city and rural practices before joining Stuart Macfarlane Optometrist in 2004. She is involved in the mentoring program for undergraduate students from QUT and supports the district with community talks on eye-care. Geraldine completed her therapeutic post-graduate certification late 2007, enabling her to prescribe eyedrops. Her special interests include diseases of the eye, children’s vision and contact lenses.

Jane Emery
Jane Emery has been providing outstanding customer service at Stuart Macfarlane Optometrist. She is in charge of Customer Service and is a qualified Optical Dispenser. The experience she has gained in the 24 years she has been associated with optics has been enhanced by the completion of numerous management and Optical Dispensing courses.

Jessica Beauclerc
Jessica Beauclerc joined the Stuart Macfarlane Optometrist team in 2005 as a Receptionist. She is charge of Administration and Accounts and has completed several Optical Dispensing courses. Jessica is currently studying towards being a qualified Optical Dispenser.

Kelly Wilson
Kelly Wilson joined the Stuart Macfarlane Optometrist team in 2006. She is our contact lens manager and is involved in all facets of Administration, Reception and Dispensing. Kelly has been gaining knowledge by regularly attending Provision's Optometrical courses and is currently completing her qualifications as an Optical Dispenser. She has extensive experience with contact lenses.
Katherine Rope
Katherine Rope joined the Stuart Macfarlane Optometrist team in 2007. Katherine is our front counter Receptionist who will assist in frame selection and general inquiries. Katherine has a good knowledge of contact lenses.
Alexandra Scanlon
Alexandra Scanlon is our newest team member and brings to us 4 years of retail experience in pharmacy. She is training as an Optical Dispenser. She joined our team in 2008.
The practice contains two consultation rooms and a dedicated ancillary equipment room extensively equipped with state of the art instruments including:

- Zeiss Humphrey computerised perimeter for investigating visual fields
- Nikon computerised auto-refractor for measuring spectacle refraction
- Slitlamps for examining the anterior segment of the eye
- Computerised Medmont C-100 for testing colour vision deficiencies
- Tonometer for measuring intra-ocular pressure
- Canon fundus camera for digital retinal photography
- Zeiss Scanning Laser Ophthalmoscope for early detection and monitoring of glaucoma
